• Illinois Executive Order 11 (2009) Gov. Pat Quinn’s April 22, 2009, executive order seeks to reduce the environmental impact of state government operations through measures including waste prevention; energy efficiency and conservation; and sustainable transportation. Goals for sustainable transportation include the use of clean construction practices in state-funded road construction contracts in ozone and particulate matter nonattainment areas; a 20 percent reduction in petroleum use by state vehicles over 2008 levels by July 2012; and the use of environmentally sensitive practices for vehicle maintenance by the Illinois departments of Transportation and Central Management Services.
