Step 4: Construct Structure
4.0 Overview
The construction phase is the end of the planning
phase and beginning of the implementation phase. At
this point, the DOTs have the majority of the responsibility
for ensuring the agreements made to date are carried
out in the spirit of the planners. An implementation
liaison, identified in Step 3.3, can greatly assist
in this effort.
The Decision Guide is primarily intended to assist
in the planning and selection of wildlife crossing
structures as mitigation for highway impacts to wildlife.
Thus this phase of the guide is limited to noting that
for purposes of ensuring wildlife crossing structures
work as intended, it is not only important to plan,
but also to implement, the elements documented in the
implementation plans pertinent to mitigation. |
